Christina Applegate made a full statement with just four letters.
The Dead to Me star—who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in the spring of 2021—attended the 2023 SAG Awards on Feb. 26 with her daughter Sadie Grace, 12. In addition to wearing a full-length tuxedo gown for the occasion, the actress made a statement with her cane, which donned stickers letters that read, "FU MS."
For this year's SAG Award ceremony, the Married...with Children alum earned a nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series for her role in Dead to Me. Her fellow nominees included Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Quinta Brunson (Abbott Elementary), Jenna Ortega (Wednesday) and Jean Smart who won for her role in Hacks.
Christina's most recent nomination proved to be particularly special, as the actress recently shared that playing Jen Harding on Netflix's Dead to Me may have been her last on-screen acting role.
"Right now, I couldn't imagine getting up at 5 a.m. and spending 12 to 14 hours on a set," the 51-year-old recently told the Los Angeles Times. "I don't have that in me at this moment."
Noting the SAG Awards, she continued, "It's my last awards show as an actor probably, so it's kind of a big deal."
However, don't count out the Hollywood legend all together, as she is determined to have her voice be heard—in another way. As Christina shared, she sees herself "doing a s--t ton of voice-overs to make some cash to make sure that my daughter's fed and we're homed."
The actress also opened up about watching herself in the third and final season of the dramedy—which she starred in alongside Linda Cardellini—noting that it was a challenge at first.
"I don't like seeing myself struggling," Christina admitted to the outlet. "I gained 40 pounds because of inactivity and medications, and I didn't look like myself, and I didn't feel like myself."
"At some point I was able to distance myself from my own ego and realize what a beautiful piece of television it was," the Anchorman actress noted. "All the scenes I wasn't in were so much fun to see and experience for the very first time."
Christina's win comes also three months after she earned another accolade: receiving her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She naturally used the pinch-me moment to give Sadie a shoutout.
"The most important person in this world is my daughter," the Bad Moms star said during the ceremony. "You are so much more than even you know. You are so beautiful and kind and loving and smart and interesting."
Christina continued, "I'm blessed every day that I get to wake up and take you to school. You are my everything. Thank you for standing by me through all of this."
