Jerry O'Connell is speaking out on John Stamos' memoir comments about Rebecca Romijn.
The "Stand By Me" actor, 49, who is married to actor and former model Romijn, 51, told his "The Talk" co-hosts that he has largely chosen not to comment about the "Full House" actor's memoir, "If You Would Have Told Me."
"My wife's ex-husband recently wrote a biography, and it referred to my wife in a negative manner," he said. "And a lot of people have asked me about that in press, and it would be easy for me to say, 'Screw you, how dare you ask me that?'"
The conversation started over a discussion about Adam Driver's recent blowup at an audience member who asked him about "cheesy" crash scenes in his new film "Ferrari." O'Connell compared the situation to being asked about statements made about his wife in Stamos' memoir.
"It would be bringing attention to a situation I don't want to feed into," he said.
But his situation is more personal than Driver's, he said. "There's children involved, teenage children who read everything on the internet. So you don't want to feed that fire."
O'Connell married Romijn in 2007, and the couple share twin girls Charlie Tamara Tulip and Dolly Rebecca Rose, 14.
In Stamos' memoir, released Oct. 24, he at one point described Romijn as "the devil."
The actor, 60, told People last month that it took "years and years" to heal from his divorce. The couple married in 1998 and divorced six years later.
"My first marriage was shattering to me. I was shattered for way too long, too," he told People. "In my mind back then, she was the devil, and I just hated her. I couldn't believe how much I hated her, and it ruined my life."
The actor's road to healing from the split was "not healthy," he said, admitting that he began leaning on alcohol to cope.

He also said he believes their career trajectories played a part in their breakup. "It was very much the opinion that she dumped me because her career was going great and mine wasn't, and that's humiliating," Stamos said. "I don't blame her for it."
Eventually, he realized, "Oh, she wasn't the devil. Maybe I was as much to blame as her."
Stamos later found his soulmate in actress Caitlin McHugh, 37, whom he met on the set of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" when he guest-starred on the crime drama in 2011. The pair married in February 2018 and share son Billy, 5.
