A newborn baby injured during a crash with an Amazon delivery truck has died two days later, police said.
The Athens-Clarke County Police Department said an Amazon truck turned into the path of a northbound 1996 Ford Ranger around 6:00 p.m. on Jan. 11 on Danielsville Road near Mission Road in Athens, Georgia.
The driver of the Ranger, Jerry Miller, 46, was transported to a hospital with minor injuries. However, his passenger, Helen Edwards, 41, of Canon, was pregnant and was seriously injured, police said.
Soon after the crash, Edwards delivered the baby and they were placed in intensive care. Two days after the crash, the newborn died, police said.
